Managing Mental Health in the Workplace

A CPD registered three hour workshop aimed at managers and supervisors to provide an understanding of common mental health conditions and how to support best practice in the workplace.

Description

A fully funded course for those living or working within Lancashire, meaning eligible attendees will not be charged.  Please see our Terms and Conditions for more information.

Aimed at managers and supervisors, this half day training session is CPD registered and provides a greater understanding of common mental health conditions in the workplace and what signs to look for in staff and colleagues.  This may be a starting point to encourage senior level buy-in or to ensure your organisation is offering a consistent approach to supporting mental health at work.  Together we will be examining misconceptions and considering best practice; including asset mapping your current offer and considering what else you might like to include within it. You will learn:

  • An increased awareness of mental health in the workplace

  • Be able to challenge stigma around poor mental health

  • A better understanding of how to support staff experiencing poor mental health

  • An understanding of good practice in the workplace

Following on from this session, learners will receive electronic versions of Mind's Wellness Action Plans, which consider all styles of work, as part of our good practice approach to supporting mental health in the workplace as discussed within the live session.

Delivery Method:

This course is taught virtually, on the Webex Training platform. It is instructor led and requires regular interaction from learners. You will need access to the internet, a webcam, a speaker or headphones, and a microphone to fully participate. Webcams must be kept on at all times.

While Lancashire Mind are not IT professionals, there is extra time built in at the start of the training session to resolve joining difficulties. A Supporter will also be available throughout the training session to assist learners with accessing the course and to monitor their wellbeing.
