Understanding Self Harm is a half day course which provides the understanding and skills to support someone who self injures, or who is at risk of self injuring.
Description
Understanding Self Harm Half is aimed at professionals working with children and young people who self injure or who are at risk of self harming. These skills are transferable to working with adults. You will learn:

Understand self injury and risk factors

Learn how to respond to self injury disclosures or discovery in a positive and supportive manner

Understand alternative strategies and responses for people who self injure

Understand the harm minimisation approach

Understand the importance of safeguarding and safeguarding policies
